This lantern took its name after an:
“Arcadian nymph, from whom the river Neda and also a town derived their name. She was believed, conjointly with Theisoa and Hagno, to have nursed the infant Zeus . In a Messenian tradition Neda and Ithome were called nurses of Zeus. She was represented at Athens in the temple of Athena. (Paus. viii. 47. § 2.)”
Its dedicated to Matthew from Singapore!
ps: Currently ΝΕΔΑ or “Νέδα” is a small volume river (more like a creek) in some near distance from my hometown and poses a trekking and canyoning site of great beauty. I have trekked there to a distance a long time ago
